In a year that has already seen Alia Bhatt’s star rise to new heights, the actress has yet another reason to celebrate. Her stellar performance in Karan Johar’s “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” (RRKPK) has earned her accolades, followed by her Hollywood debut in “Heart of Stone” alongside Gal Gadot. Last month, she clinched the National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in “Gangubai Kathiawadi.” Now, the good news continues as “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” has been selected to feature at the Busan International Film Festival.
Karan Johar’s return to the director’s chair with “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” was met with applause, marking his first directorial venture since the 2016 film “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.” The movie also featured Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi, earning critical acclaim and a strong box office performance.
Now, the film is set to dazzle audiences in Haeundae-gu, Busan, South Korea. The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) is renowned as one of the most prominent film festivals in Asia, held annually in South Korea. Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, reuniting after their successful collaboration in “Gully Boy,” will see their film showcased in the Open Cinema Section of the 28th edition of the prestigious festival, taking place from October 4 to October 13 this year.
The news of the film’s selection for Busan garnered excitement from the entire RRKPK team. Karan Johar expressed his gratitude on social media, sharing, “feeling absolutely blessed & grateful #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahaani goes to Busan film fest.”
Alia Bhatt, who portrays Rani Chatterjee in the film, shared her elation on her Instagram story, writing, “Another chapter added to our kahaani,” accompanied by multiple white heart emojis.
As for their future endeavors, Alia is taking a break to spend quality time with her baby, Raha. Meanwhile, Karan Johar has an exciting lineup of films scheduled for release, beginning with “Yodha,” starring Sidharth Malhotra and Disha Patani, followed by Vicky Kaushal’s “Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam.”
